Verismo™ 580 Brewer Champagne
Lattes at Home
I love Starbucks and I love this machine. Two pushes of buttons and I have my own latte - which tastes just like the ones at Starbucks. And if you want to get fancy, you can purchase the syrups and caramels and make any of their signature drinks. Best purchase ever.

The Verismo is my 3rd single cup brewer and an addition to my Starbucks semi-automatic espresso machine purchased in 2002. It arrived well packed and took me less than 5 minutes to be up and brewing. I was a little concerned about what the milk pods would taste like so I was anxious to try the cafe latte sample pack that came with it. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The milk pods were great. The espresso brewed well. I must say that the brewing temperature is a little low though for brewing a proper shot of espresso, however brewing it into a shot glass you can see the different layers that comprise a good shot of espresso, with a good layer of crema on the top. That is surprising giving the lower brew temp and the fact that it's only a 19 bar machine. Overall I am very satisfied and it exceeded my expectations. The price to brew a double shot latte comes in just under what you would pay for the same thing in a store. That makes it the most expensive single cup brewer to use on the market, but the quality is well worth it and keeps me from having to get into the mess of my semi-automatic machine. The price of the pods, and the lower brew temp are the only reasons this machine didn't get a 5 star rating from me.

Great Product easy to use. Makes great Coffee
This a great product. The only problem I have with
my Verismo 580 Is changing water it is pain to get
water holder back in place . Other then that it makes
great coffee . I can't wait to make my 1st latte . I really love this machine it is better then any other machine I have owned. Everybody should have one.
Please have your engineers work on the water tank. putting back in place….

I regret buying this big time
I gave this machine 1 star for ease of use, not because it isn't easy to use, but because I can't find the pods anywhere unless I drive to the next town up to buy specifically from a Starbucks store...or buy online. Neither of which is convenient when you want coffee and have none left. I am forced to buy in large bulk because I drink it every single day. The cups it produces are small so often you'll need more than one pod for a single cup of coffee. (hence my need for bulk pod purchasing)
I regret buying this machine for $149.00. It's over priced since the pods are extremely specific. Kcup pods, which are sold nearly everywhere, will not work in this machine and Verismo pods are difficult to find.
For the price, I wish I would have purchased a different machine altogether.
Now, as for taste, this machine does make a lovely cup of coffee---hence my desire to drink it everyday. If you do buy, just be sure to stock up on the pods if you make coffee in haste and don't have a Starbucks store near you---or have the ability to wait days for shipping from an online purchase---you just might be out of luck. My suggestion...buy pods in bulk and I mean all pods, coffee, espresso and milk, to be sure you have everything you need to make your Starbucks home experience worthwhile.

Blah, bland, and cold.
At first glance, the Verismo 580 appears to be a modern replacement for the trusty old brew pot. Verismo's packaging, guides and menus are very nice and easy to read. It doesn't take long to get out of the box, set up and ready to brew.
If you are at all like me and look forward to time with a tasty cup of joe, then you are not going to be happy with this system. It comes down to three issues. Two if which are important to me. One is the flavor. Verismo pods, the disposable container of coffee or milk, produce a flavor that is different from brewed coffee. The second issue is temperature. Verismo's coffee is just kind of warm, not hot. It is very disappointing that temperature is not adjustable on the 580.
These two issues are enough for me to give Verismo a definite thumbs down. But a third issue to consider is that the system does not come packaged with any pods. You will have to buy those in addition. The pods I have are in boxes of twelve. I used one and have eleven remaining pods that I won't use and doubt if Starbucks will refund the purchase price.
All in all, I feel like this is just another mass produced product that doesn't fulfill its promise. Consumers will buy it for appearance and convenience. We really just want a cup of hot coffee and this doesn't provide it!
