For Best Brewing

  1. Bring fresh, filtered water to a boil at 212F (100c).
  2. Pour 8 fl oz (236 ml) of water over the sachet in your cup.
  3. Let it steep for 5 minutes. Wait patiently for perfection.

Black tea is the fully oxidized leaf of Camellia sinensis and requires the most processing. The brewed liquor ranges between dark brown and deep red. Black teas offer the strongest flavors and, in some cases, the greatest astringency.

Spice-less Chai Since the issue of the new packaged tea (~ Feb 2013), there has been none of the spiciness one typically associates with a good cup of chai tea. Previous to this, the chai was wonderful - full of anise, clove, cardommon, black pepper, etc. flavors. Oh I so miss this old chai! Tazo / Starbucks - where did the spices go? February 13, 2013
tea flight was not as expected I bought a tea flight as part of my Christmas gifts for my daughter-in-law. It seemed like a fun way to extend the holiday joy to a dedicated tea drinker. I stated on the order that it was a gift. I expected the box to explain that four more teas would arrive during the year. I was disappointed that what I bought was simply 6 cans of tea spaced over the year. It doesn't seem special. In fact, it seems quite uninspired and totally ordinary. December 16, 2012
When I can't get to Starbucks My favorite cool weather drink is a no water, grande, soy, chai tea latte. Since I can't always indulge myself with a trip to my local Starbucks drive-thru, this tea gets me close to the real drink. The wonderful aroma of the spices and the taste (I add milk), make for an almost perfect Starbucks experience. The only thing missing is that I can't duplicate the foam! December 16, 2012
Excellent Comfort We live in China, a country surrounded by tea, but we cannot get Chai in our area. The Chinese people near us don't even know it exists. Every year, our friends mail us a couple of boxes just to remind us of the comforts of home. This is an excellent tea for when you are captured by a book late into the evening. December 14, 2012
