Recipe for great coffee

  1. Use cold, filtered water and a clean machine.
  2. Grind beans just before brewing:
    • Coarse for coffee press
    • Medium for automatic drip
  3. Measure 2 tbsp (10 g) ground coffee for every 6 fl oz (180 ml) water.

To help preserve that fresh flavor, keep this bag sealed tight in a cabinet (not in the refrigerator) and brew within a week of opening.

Each coffee requires slightly different amounts of time and temperature during the roasting process to create a cup at its peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. We classify our coffees in three roast profiles so you can easily find your desired flavor and intensity.

  • Blonde: Blonde-roasted coffees have a shorter roast time, lighter body and mellow flavors.
  • Medium: Medium-roasted coffees are balanced with smooth and rich flavors.
  • Dark: Dark-roasted coffees feature a fuller body and robust, bold flavors.

Mellow and Rich. Great Aroma. I think this coffee has a great mellow flavor and i love the aroma! I like this coffee best of all the starbucks coffee that I have ever tasted. The only thing that would be better is if they had it for the Keurig system. June 10, 2013
Best Coffee I love this coffee. I don't care for a heavy brand, this is light and tastes great. I don't need much cream or sugar, it's simply a great crisp tasting blend. June 3, 2013
Nostalgia, at its finest This was the first Starbucks coffee I'd ever tasted, and I did so on my first day as a partner. There I was, sitting nervously at a wooden table, marked up from thousands of customer visits, when my manager (and trainer, no doubt) appeared with a strange glass and metal contraption, containing what seemed like coffee. This would also be the day I was introduced to a coffee press. A timer rang out somewhere behind the counter, and a barista signaled to my manager that the coffee had steeped long enough, after which my manager pushed down on the plunger, trapping the soaking coffee grounds at the bottom of the container. I watched as she poured the most beautiful cup of coffee I'd ever seen, then she slid me a couple chunks of lemon loaf, and soon enough I was experiencing my first REAL coffee tasting. Before Starbucks, I'd considered myself a 'dark-coffee' lover, and I reveled in the masculine connotation this held, as did drinking 'dark' coffee black. At this particular moment, I'd fallen in love, and with a light roast! The experience completely unearthed my conception of coffee and its many variations, forcing me to start over with coffee. So, I did with this clean, almost-nutty coffee that leaves the mouth the moment you take a swallow, that soaks into lemon loaf and truly brings out the coffee's fruity acidity. Now, I really do prefer dark roasts (Verona), but Willow blend will always hold a bright place in my heart, reflective of not only my true introduction to coffee, but my partnership with Starbucks. Nice contrast to the Dark roasted Espresso Roast I use the Willow as a mix for the Dark Espresso Roast, and create a custom blend to be used for espresso shots at home. I use a 2-dark to 1-Willow ratio and have a very nice blend. When using the Dark Espresso alone, it tends to be too bitter. Of course the Willow is a very light blend and would not hold up very well as espresso - but blended they are terrific. May 11, 2013
LOVED IT!!!! I met my parents for coffee one Saturday. I had tried the Veranda but did not care for it, so my dad bought me a cup of the Willow Blend. It was love at first taste! I like my coffee more mild so sometimes it is tricky to get the bolder roasts to taste the way I want. All I had to do to the Willow Blend was add a couple sweeteners and I was good to go. The caffeine rush was an added bonus. If you like dark roast this probably is not for you, but if you like tea or more mild coffee Willow Blend is worth the try. May 6, 2013
