There is a blue tint to the mountain mist on Jamaica's Blue Mountain® which gives legend to the Jamaica Blue Mountain name. This mist, combined with the terrain, soil and rainfall, combine to create the ideal conditions for quality coffee, which we are delivering at its peak of freshness this summer season.
The Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica sets meticulous standards for growing, harvesting and processing their coffee, with each bean being inspected and certified to meet rigorous quality standards before it can earn the Jamaica Blue Mountain® name. The result is a taste in cup with layers of complexity; citrus, slight chocolate taste and intense aroma.
Of the thousands of coffees we encounter in our search for the best, only a precious few are deemed exceptional enough to become Starbucks Reserve® coffees, offered only for limited times at select stores.

Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee is the only coffee in the world shipped in iconic wooden barrels--a custom dating back to the 1800's. Our offering comes from the Amber Estate, a leader in providing high quality Jamaica Blue Mountain® coffee. Specifically, the historic and neighboring Abbey Green and Mount Lebanon farms, which border the Blue Mountain preserve, grew this coffee beneath the peak of 7,400-foot Blue Ridge--in fact, in order to summit the Blue Mountain, one must literally pass through Abbey Green.
