The Republic of Cameroon, is located along the Gulf of Guinea, the Western coast of Africa. The country is called "Africa in miniature" for its geological and cultural diversity, which includes beaches, deserts, mountains, rainforests and savannas. The growing areas for this coffee are nestled around the slopes of Mount Oku, a volcano that is the second highest mountain in mainland West Africa. The area is a very high mountainous region (~4000 feet above sea level). This high elevation and rich volcanic soil provide the optimal growing condition for high quality arabica coffee.

Of the thousands of coffees we encounter in our search for the best, only a precious few are deemed exceptional enough to become Starbucks Reserve® coffees, offered only for limited times at select stores.

A group of ambitious smallholder farmers from Cameroon, where robusta is the traditional coffee harvest, worked closely with a local cooperative to perfect the quality of their beans – and improve their livelihoods – by producing this outstanding arabica. Located in west central Africa, across the continent from where most of Africa's finest coffees grow, Cameroon boasts a diverse geography - from deserts to rainforests to Mount Oku, where these beans thrive high in the rich volcanic soil.

This special Starbucks Reserve® coffee is in very limited supply and only available at select stores.

A great unique coffee I am enjoying this coffee. The flavor/brews is not as dark or strong as I was initially expecting. Although I only use enough of the beans to make a light/medium brew. Don't want to waste the beans...overall I like it and would recommend it! May 2, 2013
Love it! Wasn't sure what to expect with this coffee but really wish I hadn't waited so long to try it. I use it as espresso in mocha lattes and it works really well. Need to order more. March 29, 2013
Great coffee, as usual. I enjoy the variety of coffee Starbucks offers. I like to switch flavors rather than use the same one everytime. Thanks Starbucks!!! February 26, 2013
An Exceptional Coffee! This is really an exceptional coffee. The aroma is amazing: floral and citrus. Then when you taste it the herbal and spice notes are front and center. It's very pleasant without being overwhelming. Then it finishes with the floral and citrus notes that you first experienced in the aroma. It's a very balanced coffee. Not one of the notes overpowers the others. That is quite a feat for a single origin coffee. Hats off to the farmers, processors and roasters that brought this coffee to life. I first tried this coffee in a French press. It was very good but sometimes herbal and spicy coffees can be overpowering when brewed in a French press. So I next tried this coffee as a pour over. BINGO! The pour over method really helps bring this coffee into perfect balance and quite honestly I don't believe cream and sugar is needed. Living in Southern California, we get plenty of winter days in the 70s so I decided to try this coffee as an iced coffee. I am glad I did. I use the pour over method and brew directly onto ice. Instantly cooling the coffee tames the herbal and spicy notes and highlights the floral notes. I like my iced coffee that way. If you are going to use this for iced coffee, and I hope you do, remember to brew your coffee at double strength so that your finished product is not diluted and watered down. As always, pay attention to your grind, proportion, temperature and time. Coarse grind for a French press, medium grind for automatic brewers, medium-fine for a pour over. 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 6 ounces of water (double the coffee for iced coffee). Use good water. Coffee is 98% water so if you start with bad water you will end up with bad coffee. Water should be just off the boil (195-205 degrees). Steep for 4 minutes in a French press. If doing a pour over, it should take 3-4 minutes to complete your brew. February 23, 2013
Really all around pleasant coffee. Smooth and well balanced medium bodied coffee. It's not strong. It's not mild . I was glad to be able to reorder. February 22, 2013
