Calm Loose Leaf Herbal Tea by Tazo Tea

Item Size: One 7.0-oz bag.
Directions: Use one heaping teaspoon loose leaves per 8 ounces of water. Brews approximately 40 cups of tea.

A soothing blend of chamomile blossoms, rose petals and other relaxing herbs.

Description: A comforting herbal blend of chamomile flowers, hibiscus flowers, spearmint, lemongrass, rose petals, blackberry leaves, safflower, peppermint, sarsaparilla, lemon balm, licorice root, and natural flavors.

Calm is a light, soothing beverage with the sweet, floral taste of chamomile and a smooth finish. Chamomile is one of the classic herbal infusions, enjoyed by many as a soothing nightcap. The TazoŽ version has more flavor and color than most. The list of ingredients provides great insight into the complexity of flavor. See how many different tastes you can pick out.

Tazo uses Egyptian chamomile for its slightly sweet, apple-like flavor, and Mexican chamomile for its herbal, hay-like characteristics and hearty mouthfeel. The combination of the two origins lends Calm a solid base to which the other ingredients are then added. Hibiscus flowers add a slight bit of tart, juicy, fruity flavor, and spearmint and peppermint from the Pacific Northwest contribute just the right amount of mint taste. The lemongrass is included to add brightness and lemony-sweetness to the final blend while pink rose petals from India and Morocco add light, sweet, floral notes. From Eastern Europe, Tazo purchases blackberry leaves for their spicy, bitter, and astringent qualities and lemon balm for its light, sweet lemon flavor and mouthfeel. Finally, licorice and sarsaparilla round off the blend and add sweetness and creaminess.

Food Pairings:
Pairs well with desserts and cheese.

Tazo Calm tea is the best for taking about 5-10 minutes to chill when needed. I was intorduced to Calm at Park City Hotel in Utah. I had been down to Salt Lake City for medical tests and between the tests, the traffic and being unable to take regular meds three days prior that was some day. Anyway, I decided to forgo the SLC hotels and treat myself. Luxury resort hotel room, steak & lobster dinner, jacuzzi and Tazo Calm tea. Now when I drink a cup of Calm I get the benefit of a truly wonderful tea, as well as the memory of coddling myself. Thank you for providing an opportunity to purchase Tazo Calm in bulk. I was looking for loose tea like we had when I was young. My Aunt worked at a tea factory and would always have loose tea in the house. This tea was perfect and brought back old memories. My Mom would make us this tea all the time but was especially good when we were not feeling well. I wish I could purchase one bag at a time though to keep the freshness of the tea.

This is a great tasting tea. I brew a pot daily. It is very relaxing. The loose tea leaves taste much better than the tea bags. This is a really good value for the money.
