People wanted to follow the visual wonder of water rising into the funnel and its mysterious return as black coffee into the serving jug! So I was not sure what to expect, I have heard that the vacuum coffee makers make the best coffee but I did not know exactly what that meant. Now having used it several times, I know what it means! No bitterness (zero) and the full flavor of the coffee beans. You can distinctly discern the flavor of different coffee beans. The flavor is so much smoother and fuller.
you can use less sugar or cream if you normally use those to hide the bitterness coffee can sometimes have.
One thing to note, it takes longer that drip coffee makers or a french press. On the other hand there are some real physics involved due to the vacuum function, so it is rather fun to watch!
the first pot seems easy. the mess follows----frustration is next. it is back in its box hoping someone who is dumb as i am will buy it. all was not lost, i got back on the internet, looking for the best in "AMERICAN" i am smiling now, smelling the aroma from my 50yr old (9)cup all glass pyrex. hummmu good. arthur on dauphin island.
As a young lad I was amazed by these coffee pots in resturants and grills. Now, my grandchildren are also amazed by the movement of fluids. The system also makes great coffee.
I highly recommend this Vacuum brewer both for good hot coffee and for its entertainment value while you are brewing!
love the coffee maker. unique design and fun to watch. product info said it makes great coffee. however, i loved everything but the coffee! no flavor compared to my regular brewed coffee. returned the coffee maker.
