Jun Shan Yin Zhen
Famous “yellow” tea from Hunan with yellow liquor & light floral, creamy notes.
Chairman Mao’s favorite, this yellow tea produced in Yue Yang on Junshan Island has become very famous. Only newly plucked buds harvested before the Qingming festival are carefully wrapped and steam-fired over three days, yielding a very limited production of a precious tea with pale-yellow liquor and a lightly floral, creamy note.
How to Brew
For Best Brewing
- Use one heaping teaspoon of loose leaves per 8 fl oz of 215° water.
- Let it steep for 5 minutes. Wait patiently for perfection.
The liquor of a green tea is typically a green or yellow color, and flavors range from toasty, grassy (pan-fired teas) to fresh and streamed greens (steamed teas) with mild astringency.
