Product Details

While red-skin bourbons are most common, the natural variation of the Yellow Bourbon is celebrated for its vibrant yellow coffee cherry.

The striking yellow color and the single rounded bean known as peaberry, found in less than 10-percent of the coffee cherries, make this coffee truly a unique find. This Bourbon varietal is far less common than the red varietel. Adding to that rarity is its shape - a single rounded bean, found in less than 10% of all coffee cherries. Grown on the family-owned Samambaia farm in Sul de Minas, Brazil, this coffee is processed using a unique "pulped natural" method, which infuses each bean with intense, concentrated flavors.

Did You Know?

This coffee is grown on the Samambaia farm, a fourth generation farm that has been in the family since 1896. Located in Sul de Minas, Brazil, this region is known as the “Vertentes” (Vertex) region at the top of the mountains that divide the flow of water going into the main rivers of Brazil. A consistent cool climate and the farms’ high elevation makes the perfect environment to grow this premium coffee.

This coffee is processed using a method called “pulped natural” by which the cherry is removed but a thin layer of sticky mucilage stays on the bean. The coffee is then dried without the fermentation stage that is typical of Latin American coffees.
