Recipe for great coffee

  1. Use cold, filtered water and a clean machine.
  2. Grind beans just before brewing:
    • Coarse for coffee press
    • Medium for automatic drip
  3. Measure 2 tbsp (10 g) ground coffee for every 6 fl oz (180 ml) water.

To help preserve that fresh flavor, keep this bag sealed tight in a cabinet (not in the refrigerator) and brew within a week of opening.

Each coffee requires slightly different amounts of time and temperature during the roasting process to create a cup at its peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. We classify our coffees in three roast profiles so you can easily find your desired flavor and intensity.

  • Blonde: Blonde-roasted coffees have a shorter roast time, lighter body and mellow flavors.
  • Medium: Medium-roasted coffees are balanced with smooth and rich flavors.
  • Dark: Dark-roasted coffees feature a fuller body and robust, bold flavors.

Behind every cup of coffee, there's a story.

See the people who take such great care in the harvest and processing of our whole bean coffees.

Swahili for "between," Kati Kati strikes an invigorating balance between the citrus and spice notes from Kenya and the subtle floral aromas and crisip acidity from Ethiopia. Bright, medium-bodied and delightful hot or iced.

For four decades, we've turned to this region for bold citrus flavors that exuberantly complement the warmest days of the year. Great for Presses Sometimes even my favorite brewed flavors end up tasting rather acidic in a press. Since I use on every day for just myself, I have been trying to find a blend that comes off smooth rather than tangy. Despite the citrus flavors that are supposed to accompany this blend, it comes out of the press smooth every time. Delicious! I wish I could buy it all year. September 3, 2013
Wonderful soft coffee I am a big fan of the Starbucks Kenya coffee, with a good kick, but like to mix it with the milder variants such as the Ethiopian. I expected Kati Kati to be similar to the Kenya but was happily surprised to find a coffee full of the rich African flavours but still soft and gentle to drink on its own with normal filter coffee - water ratio. I thoroughly recommend this beautiful coffee to anyone who enjoys East-African coffees. Thank you Starbucks! August 11, 2013
Mnnnnnmmmm This was excellent ! Very aromatic before and after brewing. Sublime. August 3, 2013
Good stuff Reminds me of the Tanzania of three years ago, one of the best coffees fielded. Great aftertaste, and with strength and body I think somewhat above Starbuck's medium blends, August 3, 2013
Kati Kati Blend Ok coffee but I didn't taste the "juicy" flavor. In fact didn't get much flavor at all. I guess I was expecting something more fruity or a raw lemon taste. Ok call me crazy. It's a fairly dark bean so I'll try making an espresso with it. Maybe I'll like it better. August 3, 2013
