Each coffee requires slightly different amounts of time and temperature during the roasting process to create a cup at its peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. We classify our coffees in three roast profiles so you can easily find your desired flavor and intensity.

  • Blonde: Blonde-roasted coffees have a shorter roast time, lighter body and mellow flavors.
  • Medium: Medium-roasted coffees are balanced with smooth and rich flavors.
  • Dark: Dark-roasted coffees feature a fuller body and robust, bold flavors.

Starbucks VIA (especially, the Italian Roast) is a SUPERB investment! You MUST try it. :) In a 24-36 ounce liquid measuring cup, I add a shot or two of the Starbucks White Chocolate Mocha Sauce to 8-10 ounces of 1-2% milk and microwave for 2-3 minutes. I then beat with a hand-held blended for 2-3 minutes. Add in a pack of Starbucks VIA Ready Brew Italian Roast and I'm in yummy heaven. I have all of the supplies ready next to the sink. Including clean-up time (just rinse everything off with hot water), this only takes ten minutes tops. The Italian Roast is so smooth yet bold. This is an excellent and sophisticated flavor. I just love the flavor. Especially, in this concoction that I made up. It really tastes a lot like the Starbucks white chocolate mocha that I love so much. I was making my speedy home-made latte-mocha with a french press and a completely different brand of coffee. I'm always in a rush, so I tried the VIA one day. Wow. HUGE difference in flavor. I could not believe it. My concoction tasted great before but now it tastes perfect. I was concerned that the VIA would not taste that great, as it's instant coffee. I was wrong. It tastes great. Seriously, best coffee I have bought. I usually buy from a small local coffee business. However, this just tastes so so so much better. And the VIA Italian Roast is distinctly great flavor, all on its own. If you haven't tried it and you're a coffee fan such as ,myself, you have to try this flavor. The time and money you save with a VIA cup is worth the try. You will not have to give up flavor quality. Who knew this could be possible. Seriously. The VIAs are AWESOME! :) June 12, 2013
Mediocre I had wanted to purchase one of the Via special blends they sell occasionally (e.g., Tribute Blend, etc.), but none was available, so I got the Italian Roast. Tastes bland and uninspired. A pity, really, as the Tribute and Christmas Blends are good. June 11, 2013

Love large capacity I have always enjoyed all of the Via flavors and the convenience of using the Via Instant Coffee packets. I also appreciate not throwing out coffee not used, from the ground beans style. I would appreciate a more "home friendly" form of the Via Instant however. As I suggested when it first came out, perhaps a large tin or recycled plastic container to spoon out the amount wanted. I recommend these packets to anyone wanting a Fresh brewed cup of coffee anywhere, anytime. June 2, 2013
