With the help of Starbucks® coffee pods, it's easy to create your favorite espresso beverage at home.

Each pod is filled with ground and tamped Starbucks® Espresso Roast, so there's no measuring, no grinding, no mess. Just a consistently delicious shot of espresso, every time.

Starbucks® espresso pods measure 54 mm across from the edge of the filter paper to the other. It is 43 mm across the section containing the coffee and 9 mm thick. Each pod contains 7 grams of coffee, enough for one shot of espresso. Starbucks® Espresso Roast pods can be used with most home espresso machines; they will fit in all espresso machines accepting E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) pods.

Espresso pods are not compatible with single-serve pod coffee makers or the Verismo® System.

Each coffee requires slightly different amounts of time and temperature during the roasting process to create a cup at its peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. We classify our coffees in three roast profiles so you can easily find your desired flavor and intensity.

  • Blonde: Blonde-roasted coffees have a shorter roast time, lighter body and mellow flavors.
  • Medium: Medium-roasted coffees are balanced with smooth and rich flavors.
  • Dark: Dark-roasted coffees feature a fuller body and robust, bold flavors.

We’re committed to ethically sourcing and roasting the highest-quality arabica coffee in the world. When we buy coffee this way, it fosters a better future for farmers, and a more stable climate for the planet. It also helps create a long-term supply of the high-quality beans we’ve been carefully blending, roasting and packing fresh for more than 40 years.

Espresso Roast Pods

This espresso is part of our history—the same beloved blend we’ve been serving in our stores since we handcrafted the very first Starbucks latte. Much has changed since then, but we still feel that nothing beats this rich blend of high-grown beans. It reaches its flavorful zenith through a longer roast to achieve a dark, caramelly sweetness. Great for the office, each of the 12 pods is filled with fresh-roasted, ground and tamped coffee for a mess-free, delicious shot of espresso, every time.

Where, oh Where have the expresso pods gone??? Please come back , expresso pods!!!! Please don't make me go looking for new little pods. June 7, 2013
Bring back these pods These pods were awesome. Unbelieveable that you discontinued such a great item. Your pod rating is excellent, your company rating is now poor for me. June 5, 2013
VERY Disappointed Having been a partner on and off for eight years I was shocked to hear this product was discontinued. The Barista espresso machine was one of the best products ever produced by Starbucks and the pods made it elegant, tidy and made some of the very best home espresso I've ever had. I've had numerous friends with much more expensive espresso machines comment the same way. The Espresso Pods are the key to that. I'm disappointed, frustrated and now have to go somewhere else to purchase coffee when I would rather spend my money at Starbucks. Please bring back the Pods and keep this long time Starbucks Partner and Customer from having to take his business elsewhere. Partner (1994 - 2002) May 21, 2013
I love the Espresso Pod!! Extremely Disappointed that you discontinued!!!! I love the pods. I use them at home and at my rural vacation home. There is not a Starbucks within 75 miles. Now what am I supposed to drink in the morning??? I hate the new machines and cups May 21, 2013
Where did the pods go? I'm so frustrated that I can no longer get ESE pods from Starbucks. I've owned 2 Starbucks espresso machines over the past 17 years and I've always used the pods, regular, decaf, and the occasional special edition ones like Caffe Verona. I have no intention of replacing my machine for a Verissmo or a Keurig, both inferior products that do not produce the same quality espresso. I would rather continue purchasing pods with Starbucks, but will be looking elsewhere instead. May 20, 2013
