As every coffee connoisseur knows, an essential ingredient to the most flavorful coffee is freshly-ground beans, and in this the 8-oz Bistro Conical Burr Grinder excels.

Featuring conical burrs for a consistent grind across variable settings, the Bistro can be fine-tuned on the fly with just a twist of the bean hopper. The anti-static borosilicate glass container helps eliminate the cling of coffee grounds, and the tight plastic/rubber lid makes for mess-free grinding.

Overpriced & Overhyped Even as a gift I would prefer to return it for a more durable and practical grinder. My wife said she shopped around and this is what she found to be the best grinder on the market, however, there are serious flaws she did not know about. First, the anti-static feature mentioned is not true. Grounds are stuck to the machine, the rubber top and the glass container. And I have a mess around my machine with every use. Second, the beans often get stuck in the hopper, so the machine grinds air for 20 seconds. Leading to the third important impracticality, the suggested use is 20 seconds every five minutes, meaning, now that I have watched the machine ground air for 20 seconds, i need to wait another 5 minutes to hope it will grind my beans this time. Fourth, now that I have stuck beans, i must turn the machine over to remove/ unjam the hopper. So, now the grounds in the receptacle are making a mess as well. Beyond its great looks and promises, these problems, which occur consistently, make it more a nuisance than a practical solution for grinding coffee. May 8, 2013
Great Burr Grinder Great burr grinder, brought back Kona beans from Hawaii and it makes such a difference when you have a consistent grind. Great quality, price, and ease of usage. February 26, 2012
Sturdy, easy to use Was looking for a lower price burr grinder that would do the job of giving me grounds for my french press and my stovetop moka, which requires finely ground coffee. So far, so good. Selecting a setting is easy, I like that there is an on/off button, and the canister size works for two everyday coffee drinkers in my home. The only "con" is that in spite of the use of glass for the grounds to fall into - there is still a lot of static cling to the glass, bean canister etc... However, I don't mind this as I'm not overly concerned with a few extra grounds sticking to the grinder. It has only been a month - if I could update this review in a year I could give a better write up. February 21, 2012
Great grinder for a good price This Grinder is an amazing grinder that has very little static, many different settings for your grinds, and is very easy to use. I would recommend this grinder to anyone. February 20, 2012
Excellent fine grind Purchased 2 other grinders from local retail stores and had to return them because they wouldn't grind anywhere close to espresso fine. The Bodum grinder produces super fine grind with ease, could be set to grind finer yet, in fact. The only "problem" found so far is sometimes the setting has to be opened to as coarse of a grind as possible to get started but once it's going it can be quickly adjusted back to the desired fineness. Purchased our previous grinder (a Starbucks Barista grinder) in store more than a decade ago and wish I had shopped at SB online first when I needed to replace it! February 8, 2012
