- About Tazo

Tazo® China Green Tips is made from a tea known as Mao Feng, which in Chinese translates loosely as "hairy crab" – an apt description of the twisted and rolled dry leaf.
To make green tea, plucked Camellia sinensis leaves are air-dried, steamed or pan-fired to neutralize natural oxidizing enzymes in the leaf, causing it to retain its green color and fresh vegetative flavor. After exposure to heat, the soft, flexible leaves are ready for rolling by hand or with machines into distinctive shapes. Then they are dried until the moisture level is reduced to about 4%, locking their flavor inside until contact with water. Tazo purchases teas in their original container as packed at the garden to help ensure the tea stays garden fresh.
Tea is one of life's simple pleasures.
And at Tazo, we believe that discovering authentic new tastes in tea makes the experience more enjoyable. Tazo searches the globe to obtain the finest botanicals and teas, then artfully blends these exotic ingredients to create unexpectedly rich, truly memorable flavor experiences.
Tazo is a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP), an alliance of international tea companies that are working together to improve the environmental sustainability of tea production and to help improve the lives and communities of tea workers. But it takes two sachets to make a decent cup, unless the cup is the size of a demi-tasse.
And the large metal box seems wasted on only 15 sachets (only seven cups of tea!). Maybe
30 to a box, just to cut down on box waste and get more cups per order?
