Recipe for great coffee

  1. Use cold, filtered water and a clean machine.
  2. Grind beans just before brewing:
    • Coarse for coffee press
    • Medium for automatic drip
  3. Measure 2 tbsp (10 g) ground coffee for every 6 fl oz (180 ml) water.

To help preserve that fresh flavor, keep this bag sealed tight in a cabinet (not in the refrigerator) and brew within a week of opening.

Each coffee requires slightly different amounts of time and temperature during the roasting process to create a cup at its peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. We classify our coffees in three roast profiles so you can easily find your desired flavor and intensity.

  • Blonde: Blonde-roasted coffees have a shorter roast time, lighter body and mellow flavors.
  • Medium: Medium-roasted coffees are balanced with smooth and rich flavors.
  • Dark: Dark-roasted coffees feature a fuller body and robust, bold flavors.

We’re committed to ethically sourcing and roasting the highest-quality arabica coffee in the world. When we buy coffee this way, it fosters a better future for farmers, and a more stable climate for the planet. It also helps create a long-term supply of the high-quality beans we’ve been carefully blending, roasting and packing fresh for more than 40 years.

Guatemala Antigua

Nestled among three volcanoes, Antigua is a land known for amazing coffee - and we love this one. It’s elegant and refined, with subtle, deep tastes of cocoa and soft spices. The incredible complexity and balance make this a cup we think you'll love too.

Wonderful to wake up to I have been using Guatemala Antigua for years now. I have a grind and brew that I use with the beans and the coffee that it brews each morning is delightful. May 13, 2013
A profoundly good coffee. I recently had the pleasure of a coffee tasting with my store manager and district manager. My SM prepared the tasting and she chose this coffee paired with a warmed morning bun. I had tasted this coffee before and yet when paired with the warmed morning bun it was like drinking an entirely different coffee. The cinnamon in the morning bun really elevated this coffee. There are so many things I love about being a Starbucks partner (most notably all the people I interact with day in and day out) but discovering something new in a coffee I have had before really makes me happy to be a part of such a wonderful company. If you haven't tried this coffee then I hope you do. It is smooth, balanced and pairs so well with breakfast foods, or chocolate for all you chocoholics. If you have had this coffee before then I encourage you to try it again with a morning bun, churro or French toast. You will discover something new about this coffee when you pair it with a cinnamon treat. May 9, 2013
Guatemala We had never tried this particular coffee before. I put it on our subscription and we loved it! Was great hot or iced. Really nice flavor. May 5, 2013
great! I wanted to try this from the description I read, and I was not disappointed! I really enjoyed this coffee, which in our house is saying a lot as we usually buy dark roast. I wish I had bought more! April 21, 2013
Most enjoyable cup I have not tried all of the Starbucks coffees and blends, but for me this coffee is the first to come to mind when I consider the perfect cup. Balanced, rich, and velvety with wine-like tones, this coffee is my favorite. April 21, 2013
